Engineering a living system beneath the surface

The ExoStasis Ecosystem

A modular network designed for resilience, autonomy, and human continuity.

Each ExoStasis ecosystem is composed of interconnected Stasis Capsules arranged in underground clusters, supported by dedicated system capsules that provide power, air, water, and access.

Together, these form a living infrastructure capable of sustaining communities for months or years — independent of surface conditions.

Structural Innovation

Bio-Inspired Engineering

At the heart of every capsule lies an advanced exoskeletal culvert shell — corrugated steel strengthened by a dodecagonal network of longitudinal channels that form an internal reinforcement cage.

This engineered lattice distributes load evenly across the capsule’s surface, increasing hoop and compressive strength while stabilising the structure against rotational and lateral movement within the soil.

The result: a flexible, shock-absorbing form that behaves like a living organism — adapting seamlessly to the ground that surrounds it.

Modular Strength

Each capsule measures 3 metres in diameter and 2.2 metres in length, connected by reinforced flange rings that bolt together to form a continuous subterranean line.

Within every capsule, longitudinal reinforcement channels are welded directly to the front and rear flangescreating a continuous load path that transforms each junction into a structural ring stiffener. This design multiplies strength at every connection, rather than weakening it.

Multiple capsules combine to create complete ecosystem arrays:

  • Stasis Capsules — living, sleeping, and working spaces

  • System Capsules — air, water, access, and energy control

  • Wellness Capsules — Aqua, Serenity, and Strength zones

Every link enhances integrity — the longer the system, the stronger the whole.

System Capsules -
The core network

SkyCore Capsule

The atmospheric and light-regulation centre of the ecosystem.

SkyCore manages air through a dual-system network — a primary NBC filtration unit for sealed protection and a secondary hybrid passive system that maintains natural airflow during standard operation. Together, they ensure constant, reliable ventilation and redundancy in any condition.

Filtered air passes through multi-stage HEPA and activated carbon systems before circulating through the capsules. Above, a solar-collecting light shaft channels diffused sunlight underground, preserving healthy circadian rhythm and psychological balance.

RootCore Capsule

A bio-synthetic “root” system that draws water from the surrounding soil using capillary geotextile and osmosis technology.
It harvests rainwater from surface collectors and processes all water through five-stage reverse osmosis filtration, ensuring clean drinking supply at all times.

These roots also serve as ground anchors, stabilising the soil matrix and relieving external pressure on the capsules.

AccessCore Capsule

The main entry and exit point for the ecosystem.
It features a pressure-sealed stairwell and elevator, transparent OLED AI assisted access point, designed for secure access while maintaining full environmental isolation.

ZoneCore Capsule

An intersection hub linking different culvert lines or habitat zones.
It houses routing infrastructure for power, communications, and water — the circulatory system of the ExoStasis ecosystem.

WashCore Capsule

Automated washing and drying facilities for clothing and textiles.
All water is recycled internally through the root filtration system to maintain closed-loop efficiency.

LIFE SYSTEMS & ENERGY

..

Bio+ Energy Integration

Every capsule functions within a Bio+ symbiotic system — harvesting low-voltage energy from the soil using microbial fuel cells, augmented by lithium battery storage and solar-fed capacitors through the SkyCore.

Occupants can also generate supplementary power using an integrated fitness generator (bike/row hybrid), creating a health-positive relationship with self-sufficiency.

AI INTEGRATION: EVA - ExoStasis Virtual Assistant

“The system doesn’t just respond — it anticipates.”

An embedded AI framework continuously monitors and analyses atmospheric, environmental, and energy data across the entire ecosystem.

Each member interacts with EVA, the ExoStasis Virtual Assistant — a lifelike digital interface visible through the capsule’s mirrored smart display. EVA manages energy allocation, tracks provisions, and maintains seamless coordination with the ExoStasis Alert Network, ensuring complete operational readiness and wellbeing across all systems.

WELLNESS TECHNOLOGY

..

While engineered for protection, ExoStasis ecosystems are also designed for mental and physical balance.

Specialised wellness capsules are available to members during personal access periods:

  • Aqua Capsule — a relaxation capsule featuring a hydrotherapy pool, hanging greenery, and LED mood lighting.

  • Strength Capsule — a compact, multi-exercise space for resistance, cardio, and rehabilitation training.

  • Serenity Capsule — a meditative lounge capsule with U-shaped seating, organic lighting, and ambient sound design.

These environments restore mental clarity and physical wellbeing, ensuring life within the ecosystem is not just survivable — but liveable.

SCALABLE INFRASTRUCTURE

Design Philosophy

“We don’t build bunkers — we build organisms that sustain life.”
— Andre Shoman, Founder

Each ExoStasis site is modular and expandable:

  • 44 Stasis Capsules form a complete citizen ecosystem.  20 Capsules form the central System and Wellness zones.

  • Systems can interlink horizontally and vertically to form multi-zone compounds.

  • Standard construction and transport methods allow rapid installation with minimal environmental disruption.

This scalability means ExoStasis ecosystems can serve civilian, governmental, or commercial applications — from private resilience networks to scientific and humanitarian bases.
